Man is a political soul,
seeking rule where there is none;
it may be out of his control,
but he’ll swear to get it done.
He’ll rally for clean air or coal,
then he’ll campaign and run;
the people will go to the polls
and then when he has won,
he’ll relish being in his role
but leave his oath undone,
and one day, when he grows old,
we’ll all elect his son.
