“Mine”

A man cannot truly say “mine,”
about what he has got –
his body, property or time –
for he retains them not.

They are but gifts that he receives
to share and to invest;
the moment that his spirit leaves,
they are no more possessed.

Forsooth, in that final day,
only Satan or Yahweh
will say the designation “mine,”
especially about mankind.
