Immortal

Arts, cultures, famous creations,
powers and feats, in fact,
democracies and mighty nations –
their lives to ours are as a gnat.

But those with whom we walk and chortle,
ignore, exploit, or confer –
truly, they are all immortal,
endless horror or splendor!
