Discreet

When you give to the deprived,
beware not to bleat,
as the pious do contrived
in synagogues and streets.
It is for praise that they have strived,
and they’ve received their meed.
But truly I say unto thee,
when you give to those in need,
do not let your left hand see
everything your right completes.
Let your giving be discreet,
and your Father who’s replete,
who has seen all of your deeds,
will give to you of His bounty.
